What are my predictions for the trends in future tech?
A lot of what you used to own as a product you cannot own anymore. For example you have a phone and there might be a hundred thousand people that wrote bits of the code that make it work - no one person can analyse one product and understand what it is.
When I was young, almost everything you bought, even a car, you could kind of know every component in it and how it worked. Why it worked and what it did.
But now we're going to a subscription market. Almost everybody who starts a company wants to be a unicorn. And the only way to be a unicorn isn't to sell product, it's to entrap you and have you subscribing, becoming a regular customer and build up a database. I see this entrapment happening everyday. Habits don't go away.
It's not so much βcan I do something totally new that's never been doneβ only what value does it have? How can I you know make money off of it?
